79th Boys' Brigade Company, the Life Boys, 103rd Girl Guides Group and the 103rd Brownie Pack

The 79th Boys' Brigade Company Section was formed on the 11 November, 1938 with William Cameron McDowell, JP as the Founding Captain. Mr McDowell's family had been associated with the church since it was established. His grandfather, Alexander McDowell, was for a number of years towards the end of the 1800's a Class Leader. Before founding the 79th Company Mr McDowell was an Officer in,  and one of his sons, Richmond, was associated with, the 29th Company attached to Townsend Street Presbyterian Church. Other Company Captains were John Cameron, Billy Douglas, Herbert Ditty and Mr Jackson. The Douglas family had a long and distinguished association with Falls Road Methodist. Myrtle Hamilton, the daughter of BB Captain Billy Douglas has kindly informed us that her grandfather, Alexander Douglas and aunts Helen Hamill (nee Douglas) and Sadie Glass (née Douglas) are mentioned on the War memorial as is her great uncle Wm A Cunningham sadly one of the many who lost their lives in the Great War.

The Junior Section - the Life Boys' - was formed on 26 October,1949. At one stage John Shimmon was Leader assisted by Jim Perry and the three Orr sisters.

It is worth noting that the Church also had the Girl Guides 103rd Company with the Captain in 1954 being Miss Jean McGrath and a Brownie Pack with the Leaders in 1954 being Miss Ella Rowntree and Miss Edith Williamson
